Miami put up 86 first-half scores versus the Memphis Grizzlies

The Heat earned a decisive 146 to 114 win against the Memphis Grizzlies in their first NBA game after guard Rozier was arrested over alleged unlawful sports betting.

Portland Trail Blazers coach Billups was additionally arrested in connection with a broad FBI probe into sports betting. The two individuals contest the claims.

But, the Miami team were focused as they scored eighty-six first-half points to lead the Grizzlies by 39 after two quarters, the biggest halftime lead in the franchise's 37 year history.

Bam Adebayo led the way with twenty-four scores and later stated Terry had the support of the team.

"We all had positive times with Chauncey and his coaching style," Tiago said. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but we have a job to do."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Upset' by Arrests

Speaking about the detentions for the initial occasion, league head Adam Silver stated he was "deeply disturbed" by the events of the past few days.

"Nothing is more critical to the NBA and its fans than the integrity of the competition," he informed Amazon Prime. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was very upsetting."

The commissioner also said an NBA investigation into Rozier's conduct in spring 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a match he participated for the Hornets against the New Orleans Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"We were informed by the authorities and the betting companies," he continued.

"We then looked into that situation and were very transparent about it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, couldn't find anything.

"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can do all kinds of things that the league office is unable to.

"So, we've been cooperating from that point. Naturally, what they announced yesterday was an charge.

"And 30 months later, he has not been found guilty of anything, in fairness to Rozier.

"Clearly, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a compromise here between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."
