Mohamed Salah Extends Regret to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Their results have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
