Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
